Camera lets this down :( otherwise what a phone! But for such a high spec’d device why not give it an 8 or 10mp camera? With a decent xenon flash and preferably a 3x optical. Its all about the camera for me.

its a phone, let it work as a phone, if you want an 8mb or 10mb camera go by a dedicated device

I am a huge fan of nokia 5th edition. I love my 5800. I bet N97 is the best. Awesome features. Only one issue with nokia. Their devices lacks solid materials. Hope N97 is made of solid durable material. Hope it doesnt wobble or shake while using the slider. Its very annoying. Hope nokia has learnt from N95 8gb and N96. I used both of them and both had utter flop sliding mechanism. So i dumped both. My 5800 is of average build. Better N97 be of nice quality. Else this will be my last nokia. Waiting for march 09.

The best camera so far in the Nokia series is the N82 simply because of the flash. Not sure why don’t they make camera flash like that anymore in Nokia phones. Anyone has any idea? BTW-does anyone know if the N97 supports 7.2MBS speed for web surfing

    Hey everybody..

First off, I really can’t wait for the Nokia N97 but!!
Does anybody know when it will be released in Australia?

I have been looking everywhere for the release date for AUS, but I cannot find anything.
I’m hoping somebody knows.. I’ve been on the Aus Nokia website but that doesn’t say; it
only says coming soon.. So does anybody know the actual release date for the Aussies?

I came across a website for the Nokia N97 owners http://www.NokiaN97Forum.com let’s help each other on this great phone.

    hi

I had a iPhone, very cool phone, but could not forward messages and bluetooth to other phones, only to my pc, which was ok but when someone tried to phone me and the phone is locked it does not ring, vibrate or showed the light, when i unlocked it it showed thousands of messages and missed calls, so my iPhone made friends with the wall, then I got myself the smart Nokia N97 and now I have a issue with the N97, it des not show the persons name in my messages, it only shows the number, and the number is not duplicated, it only does this with a few people’s numbers, and it irritates the living *** out of me, does any one have a solution to this? is it something I’m doing wrong or is this phone not worth the money? I can live with the problem, but I would have liked the phone to not give me problems.

    Hi Charlene,

I was just wondering: You say the numbers are not duplicated, and I’m not sure if you meant duplicate numbers, or duplicate phone entries. The older S60 nokia’s had the same problem if you had two contacts with the same name, and one was in phone memory and one on the SIM. This also annoyed me until I deleted all SIM contacts and everything was normal after that (I had all the number on the SIM because I migrated them from another phone).

    Hope that helps ;-)
